Way Out Ware is a new soft-synth developer dedicated to raising the bar for digital synthesis. By developing proprietary and optimized virtual analog oscillators and filters, Way Out Ware brings the most accurate digital reproduction of the original 2600’s fat analog sound to the desktop. The Way Out Ware TimewARP 2600 is the only ARP 2600 emulation product endorsed by its creator, Alan R. Pearlman. Built from the same award winning analog modeling technology that Way Out Ware created for TimewARP 2600, KikAXXE delivers a fat analog sound and much more. In addition to the faithful emulation of a classic ARP AXXE synthesizer, KikAXXE includes a 16 step analog style sequencer, a drum machine and a modeled tape delay.
WayOutWare TimewARP 2600 Plug-in Synthesizer
This RTAS plug-in is the only emulation of the vintage ’70s ARP 2600 endorsed by the original’s creator, Alan R. Pearlman, who was consulted all along the way. Its proprietary and optimized virtual analog oscillators and filters accurately model the behavior of the Vintage Controlled Filter module. The subtlest of features have been included and the original designers approved all the new additions. The TimewARP takes advantage of the computer workstation environment to include many new features:Extensive Patch ManagerThere is no limit to the number of patches you can create and save with the TimewARP 2600. In addition to comprehensive import and export abilities, the TimewARP 2600 also includes a sophisticated Patch Manager for sorting presets. The TimewARP 2600 also responds to MIDI bank-select and patch-select commands for total control.Use As Part Of An Effects ChainThe TimewARP 2600 allows you to use the plug-in as an elaborate signal effects processor to manipulate any signal present at its input. With an I/O bridge, you can plug in a guitar, microphone, or other sound source to provide an additional signal feed to be used in the TimewARP as an oscillator, LFO modulator, control voltage and more. Create one-of-a-kind vocoder effects. For example, Pete Townsend used this ability to drive the guitar sound in The Who’s “Who Are You.”Trigger From MIDI TracksRunning as a track plug-in, the TimewARP 2600 can also process prerecorded MIDI tracks. Under MIDI control, the Internal Clock may be synchronized to an incoming MIDI Beat Clock.Evolving Textural PatchesThe TimewARP 2600 comes loaded with hundreds of great patches right out of the box, and due to the TimewARP’s unique sonic environment, users can create “evolving textural patches.”8 Voice PolyphonyThe hardware ARP 2600 is a monophonic instrument. In addition to faithfully reproducing the original’s monophonic operation, the TimewARP 2600 is able to create up to 8 simultaneous voices by running multiple individual instances of the panel settings. This affords complex and evolving polyphonic performance.Virtual Patch CablesThe TimewARP 2600 features Virtual Patch Cables to help users construct all of the 2600’s distinctive sounds with an intuitive interface that works just like the original. Simply “grab” a cable and plug it in where needed-the TimewARP 2600 will automatically mimic the proper effect in real time.Realtime PerformanceThe TimewARP 2600 sets a new standard for soft-synth live performance by providing incredibly smooth sounding sliders and controls. You can tweak any and every knob on the control surface to hear what is now possible in realtime sound manipulation.
WayOutWare KikAxxe
The KikAxxe from Way Out Ware is a faithful emulation of the classic ARP Axxe synthesizer—and much more. Built with Way Out Ware’s award-winning analog-modeling technology, the KikAxxe brings together the Axxe synthesizer, analog-style 16-step sequencer, a dedicated step-sequenced drum machine and a retro-themed delay/echo effect. Chock full of modern conveniences like presets, MIDI sync and comprehensive MIDI-mapping capabilities, the KikAxxe has all of the features you’d expect from a top-shelf virtual instrument. The KikAxxe is compatible with RTAS, VST and AU hosts, making it a welcome addition to any personal studio and any musical genre. Mac/PC.Vintage ARP Axxe Emulation KikAxxe is a faithful emulation of the ARP Axxe analog synthesizer that descended from the venerable ARP 2600 in the mid 70s. It uses the same technology that has garnered developer Way Out Ware significant critical acclaim as one of the most faithful analog synth emulators on the market. Play it from a MIDI controller or the integral Sequencer +, an emulation of the ARP step sequencer that contributed to the signature sound of artists like The Who, Depeche Mode, 808 State, Vince Clarke, Jean-Michel Jarre, Billy Currie of Ultravox and Visage, and filmmaker John Carpenter. This combo gives you a powerful tool for creating distinctive synth bass lines. And to enhance lead lines and effects, KikAxxe also includes an emulation of the unique sound of the Echoplex—the original tape delay device that preceded digital delay units.Drums Included KikAxxe’s Sequencer + also includes a complementary staple from the same era—a drum machine with dedicated step sequencer. With five sample-based drum kits, you’ll find the sounds responsible for many hit songs across several decades—and then some. KikAxxe gives you the ability to create great bass and drum backing tracks in a single unit.Simple Preset Operation or In-depth Programming KikAxxe ships with a vast array of presets that give you access to the unit’s incredible vintage sound even if you don’t know anything about synthesis or programming.
