Apogee Big Ben 192k Master Digital Clock
Apogee Big Ben 192k Master Digital Clock
Apogee’s Big Ben 192k Master Digital Clock brings amazing clarity and quality to audio production while providing flexibility and features like no other studio clock before.A Cure for the Jitters Apogee’s “C777″ Clock At the heart of any word clock regeneration is a phase lock loop (PLL). The PLL is a combination of analog and digital elements without the ability to dynamically adapt to the nature of the external clocks. In other words, the better the clock performance, the less flexibility it has. And conversely, the more flexibility there is in a PLL, the less effective it is at jitter reduction. Apogee’s C777 is built to address these inadequacies. The C777 utilizes an entirely digital process that Apogee has developed using the most advanced Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) technology available along with DSP based digital filtering. The result is the most aggressive jitter reduction ever. With the flexibility and stability provided the C777, the Big Ben studio clock is able to re-clock devices with excessive jitter and function as if it were the master clock. The ultimate in flexibility combined with unprecedented levels of performance make the C777 unequaled in the world of clocking.Added Flexibility with Format Conversion Not that you would expect it from a master clock, Big Ben gives you the option of real-time format conversion. Use BIG BEN’s intuitive digital display to go from S/PDIF to AES, AES to ADAT, ADAT to S/PDIF, etc. X-Video Expansion Card for Video-Sync Generation The multi-standard X-Video card will allow Big Ben to function as a master video sync generator, outputting a composite video black-burst (including color burst for PAL and NTSC color). When functioning as a master video sync generator Big Ben can perform as a clock slave to the video-board and generate digital audio clocks based on the video standard selected. Alternatively, the X-Video card can function as a Slave video sync generator. In this mode the output video will be a regeneration of the input video. The X-Video card will maintain the color-phase and field information through “Genlocking”, while simultaneously stripping the original signal from its pixel information. “Adaptive Loop Filtering” (ALF) ALF maximizes Big Ben’s clocking ability with an intelligent low pass filter. Because the C777 has made all incoming signals into data (1’s and 0’s) the Big Ben studio clock is able to dynamically compensate for excessive jitter and even improve already acceptable clock signals to levels unattainable until now. No matter what your input looks like, ALF can adapt and overcome all obstacles to create a stable, reliable, low jitter clock source.”SureLock”… Your Drop out Defense So, Big Ben is masterfully handling external clock signals and all of their anomalies and you’ve got your jitters under control.

Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card for Big Ben
Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card for Big Ben
The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Card is designed to fit in the X-Series card slot located in the rear panel of the Apogee Big Ben Master Digital Clock (sold separately). Allows all functions to be controlled from the Big Ben user interface and generates video and provides genlocking function. In genlocking mode the source video-signal will be re-clocked and regenerated, maintaining the same field and colorburst phase information, but stripped of its line information and replaced by video-black. In slave mode the board will auto-detect the incoming video-standard and configure itself accordingly. The video input is of very high tolerance and will even lock to unstable sources like VCR’s.The Apogee X-VID-SYC-GEN Video Expansion Board has three modes of operation. •Master mode: The user selects the video format on the frontpanel of the Big Ben. The Big Ben will slave to the generated video signal •Attended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben will slave to the incoming video signal •Unattended Slave mode: The video board will be configured to autodetect and genlock to the incoming video. The Big Ben is not clocking to the Video board and therefore both will function independently.

Apogee Rosetta 200 2-Channel AD/DA Converter 24-bit/192kHz
Apogee Rosetta 200 2-Channel AD/DA Converter 24-bit/192kHz
The Rosetta 200 converter, Apogee’s successor to the PSX-100 and Rosetta AD namesake, delivers the quality of the popular Rosetta 800 in a 2-channel AD/DA solution. Like the Rosetta 800, the 200 features premium Apogee A/D and D/A conversion, 192k sampling rates (standard), optional Pro Tools HD, Mix and FireWire expansion cards and core Apogee technologies such as UV22HR and SoftLimit. And while the Rosetta 200 shares much of its feature set with its cousin, it throws in some irresistible extras such as the CODA Audio Finishing Module, full channel metering, and MIDI and S/PDIF input and output. Flexibility and features galore make the Rosetta 200 an outstanding option for professional and project studios, mastering engineers, and audio archivists.Legendary Apogee Conversion in High-Definition The most crucial component in the digital recording environment is high-quality A/D conversion and the most trusted and desirable converters are made by Apogee. With up to 192k sample rates, the Rosetta 200 Converter combines Apogee’s legendary conversion quality with flexibility that complements any digital audio workstation. The CODA: Audio Finishing Module, including the Aptomizer, Sample Rate Conversion (SRC), and UV22HR As higher definition audio becomes ever-present in the recording process and music continues to be delivered as a product at 44.1kHz/16-bit you need tools to minimize the loss of detail and quality that can be inherent in the course of music production. To meet these challenges Apogee has developed CODA. Unique to the Rosetta 200, CODA offers a trio of tools that will preserve the integrity of hi-def recordings with a minimal loss of quality. Heading up the CODA threesome is Apogee’s “Aptomizer.” With the Apotimizer you can maximize levels with out increasing noise and distortion. Great for recording, and mastering, the Apotimizer’s “Learn” mode allows the Rosetta 200 to automatically determine the optimum level, and use it consistently to normalize incoming audio. Another aspect of CODA is premium sample rate conversion (SRC). In the past, Apogee hardware has not offered sample rate conversion because the results were disappointing but recent advances have made SRC a viable option and now a vital part of CODA. With Apogee’s implementation of sample rate conversion you can up or down sample without noticeably affecting the quality of your audio. Apogee’s “UV22HR” dithering technology completes the CODA triangle by offering powerful reduction of high-resolution digital audio to 16 bits for the Internet and CD mastering. It is estimated that UV22HR is used on 8 out of 10 commercially released CDs in the U.S. The Rosetta 200 with CODA on board provides an end-to-end solution for capturing and optimizing high definition digital.
