Founded in 1973, Soundcraft first made its mark with the launch of the Series 1, the first mixing console in a flightcase. From what was then a small company in central London, Soundcraft expanded and started to diversify. The company designed a mixer for recording - the Series 2 - and began to build a reputation for great-sounding desks, which is often referred to as the favoured ‘British Sound’. Design and innovation has always been one of Soundcraft’s major strengths. It now boasts a range of mixers which are designed for use in live sound, recording, post-production, TV and radio production and club applications.
Soundcraft GB4-40 40-Channel Live Sound Mixing Console
The GB4 console sets a new standard in affordable high-end mixing. It is laden with capabilities and quality features: GB30 mic preamps, reengineered circuit topology and EQ designs, rigid steel chassis, high-quality vertically mounted fiberglass PCB channel strips, individually nutted potentiometers, angled rear panel that allows patching from the front, and more above all, the quality, engineering, and design for which Soundcraft is famous. The GB4-40 is 40-channel, 4-bus console designed and constructed to ensure rugged reliability under stressful tour conditions. All input modules have individual vertically-mounted PCB’s fitted to the steel chassis. It is designed for performance venue installation or small touring system applications. The dual-mode topology allows it to to be used for FOH or monitor duties, with fader control of group or aux outputs.Although largely conventional in layout, the GB4 does have some unique mechanical features. The rugged steel chassis has a sloping rear connector panel so that it is easier to configure from in front of the desk, while the integral power supply has a link option for an external backup PSU.4 mute groups allow several channels to be muted simultaneously. Another unique feature is the limiter on a set of dedicated record outputs that makes it easier to create a stereo recording of the mix.The console also features an output matrix with 7 feeds to 4 outputs, fed from the group buses and main L, R, and C (mono) outputs. The GB4 offers a comprehensive set of functions in a small and cost-effective footprint, and delivers the high performance and reliability you expect from a Soundcraft product.
Soundcraft GB4-24 Mixing Console
The GB4-24 is 24-channel, 4-bus console designed and constructed to ensure rugged reliability under stressful tour conditions. All input modules have individual vertically-mounted PCB’s fitted to the steel chassis. It is designed for performance venue installation or small touring system applications. Soundcraft LX7ii 24-Channel Mixer
The stylish new desk gets its looks from the highly successful and popular MH3 and MH4 touring sound consoles, and includes a new frame, module ID graphics and end-cheeks, making the LX7ii not only easy to use but creating a system that will be the envy of professionals everywhere. Electronically, the LX7ii gains a new Soundcraft mic-preamp and EQ section, both designed by Soundcraft founder and electronics wizard Graham Blyth. The new 4-band EQ with swept mid sections is based on the highly acclaimed EQ in the new MH3 and MH4 touring consoles. The GB30 mic preamps on the LX7ii possess much of the quality and precision of the mic preamps used on Soundcraft’s biggest touring desk, while still being cost sensitive. The GB30 EQ gives a steeper than usual slope on the fixed LF and HF sections, removing unwanted mid-frequency “mush” and delivering a clearer sound. It is a cost-effective design that brings high-end equalization into an affordable mixing console for the first time.Other standard features of the Soundcraft LX7ii include 24 inputs, 4 stereo inputs/returns with 4 groups, main stereo output and a dedicated mono output for center clusters. There are direct outputs on the first 16 inputs suitable for multitrack recording, and 6 auxes providing flexibility for effects and foldback. The LX7ii mixes to 7 outputs 4 subgroups, plus the main Left, Right and Center (Mono) mix outputs. The music mixer continues the tradition of the highly successful original LX7 in its applications in live performance PA, installed systems in churches, theaters and any similar application where a compact-sized console needs to provide a large number of inputs and maximum output capability. Both recording and live applications are easily satisfied.
Soundcraft M Series M12 20-Channel Mixer
If you think inexpensive always means cheap, think again. This compact mixer sports dozens of features that are smarter without being pricier. And Spirit never cuts corners where it matters. Full 100mm faders for smooth precision control, pro-grade connectors, special grounding features to eliminate crosstalk, and high-end mic preamps combine to rival the signal integrity of very expensive mixers.
